Privacy Policy
CONFIDENTIALITY
All information regarding the client’s interactions with this service is confidential unless explicit consent from the client is given. This includes information disclosed during sessions, appointment scheduling, or any other information related to the client. In-person sessions take place in a private setting and online sessions take place over a secure, private line.
Although the platform being used for virtual sessions is considered secure, there are risks and consequences from teletherapy, including, but not limited to, the possibility, despite reasonable efforts on the part of the therapist, that: the transmission of my information could be disrupted or distorted by technical failures; the transmission of my information could be interrupted by unauthorized persons; the electronic storage of my medical information could be accessed by unauthorized persons; and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.
For the protection of the client, minimal notes will be recorded from sessions, and all documents are securely stored.
LEGAL LIMITS TO CONFIDENTIALITY
Although the privacy of the client is prioritized, there are legal limits to confidentiality. Information regarding the client must be disclosed to appropriate authorities if
There is reason to believe there is threat of immediate harm to self or another.
There is reason to believe there has been or will be abuse or neglect of a minor under the age of 18 or of a vulnerable adult.
If there is a court order to release your records
Only information directly related to these limits will be disclosed and measures will be taken to safeguard the client’s privacy in the case of a court order.
